Flame Arrester

The Groth Models 76E-UF and 76E-AF are designed to inhibit flame propagation in gas piping systems and to protect low pressure tanks containing flammable liquids. Arresters protect low flash point liquids from external sources of ignition providing increased fire protection and safety.

  • Connection Size Range: 2” – 12” 150# ASME, DIN bolting available
  • Housing Standard Material: Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel
  • Bases Standard Material: Aluminum, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel
  • Flame Element Standard Material: 316 Stainless Steel
  • Operational Temperature Range: -4 – 140ºF (-20 – 60ºC)
  • For Gases with MESG ≥ 0.90 mm, Gas Groups: IEC IIA, NEC D (See figure below for IEC and NEC Gas groupings application MESG region)
  • Maximum Operational Pressure: see charts and IOM
  • Burn Time: tBT short-time burn rating
  • Model 76E-AF is certified to ATEX Directive in compliance with EN ISO 16852:2016
  • Thermocouple is required for flame detection per the ATEX code
  • Exterior painting or coating available
  • Drains and instrumentation ports available
  • Available factory installed thermocouples for flame sensing
  • 76E-AF model available with ATEX Certification, short-time 1 minute burn, in the “ATEX, Straight Pipe Configuration”, in compliance with EN ISO 16852:2016.
