Flame Control & Flow Testing Laboratory

State-of-the-art software backed by top-of-the-line testing.

GROTH Corporation designs all of its products with the latest virtual design software, CFD and FEA. We then test and confirm our designs with physical tests at our on-site flow- and flame-testing labs, as well as third-party testing providers as appropriate.

Our labs give us an edge in working through new designs and help ensure the highest standards of reliability, intelligent design and efficiency – and they’ve also helped us earn and keep the trust of engineers, contractors and facility manufacturers for more than 50 years. They rely on our products to keep refineries, chemical processing plants and tank farms of all sizes safe and secure.

The Flow Lab

The GROTH Flow Lab is one of the most modern low pressure, high volume flow labs in the United States.

It meets ASME PTC-25 requirements and is approved by a prominent notified body to comply with API standards. It has a maximum flow rate of 600,000 standard cubic feet per hour and can generate a maximum pressure of 5 pounds per square inch with uninterrupted airflow.

The Flame Control Lab

The GROTH Flame Control Lab performs deflagration and burn tests per the European ATEX and US Coast Guard test standards and complies with ISO 16852 requirements for deflagrations.

The lab has the capability to test with methane, propane, ethylene and many other gases.

Extensive in-house testing is only the beginning.

We’ll do whatever it takes to give you absolute confidence that our products will meet your exact specifications – so we test our products in-house, then have many of them third-party tested as well.

Additionally, that’s why we maintain the prestigious ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems certification, conferred by TÜV SÜD America Inc, in the design and manufacture of pressure/vacuum relief valves, deflagration and detonation flame arresters, emergency relief valves, waste gas burners, blanket gas regulators, sediment traps, flame traps, check valves and drip traps.
